Loyal local customers enjoy the 'Main Street' cafis as do visiting celebrities. The book includes endorsements from actor Alec Baldwin and chef/restaurateur Tom Schaudel with a forward from publisher Dan Rattiner of Dan's Papers. The Golden Pear Cafi has been a cornerstone of the Hamptons 'Main Street' community since the first one opened in Southampton in 1987, followed by East Hampton in 1991, Bridgehampton in 1996 and Sag Harbor in May 2006. The natural meeting places are at the center of daily community life in the Hamptons, open from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm daily. Patrons are welcomed by friendly staff into a bright and airy dicor filled with the smells of freshly ground coffee and hand-made muffins. On the take-out or eat-in menu are freshly-made baked goods, breakfasts, salads, wraps, sandwiches, soups, chili, afternoon treats, fine estate-grown coffees, cappuccinos and other creative specialty coffee drinks.
