Kick-off Super Bowl Weekend By Giving Back: Commander's Palace To Host Auction For Local Charity
(New Orleans; January 24, 2013) - Locals and celebrities have dined in the famous Garden Room at Commander's Palace; and now, the restaurant will auction off their most-requested table for dinner during the height of Super Bowl weekend on Saturday, February 2, 2013, to benefit Girls First, a local charity organization dedicated to providing sports and movement opportunities to underserved girls in the metropolitan New Orleans area. Online bidders will have the chance to secure a dinner reservation for up to six people, with an estimated value of $5,000.
"We have never-before auctioned off this table - or any table - at Commander's Palace. This is especially exciting because this table in particular is the most requested of all from our beloved local regulars and celebrities such as Barbra Streisand, Sandra Bullock, and Leonardo DiCaprio," says Co-Proprietor Ti Martin. "The night before the Super Bowl, it could be yours for a 'super' cause -our little ladies and athletes of Girls First. So bid early and bid often. Our team will guarantee it will be a wonderfully 'super' meal to remember for a lifetime."
The reservation package includes a dinner prepared by James Beard-nominated Executive Chef Tory McPhail, for up to six people on Saturday, February 2, 2013 (alcohol, tax, and gratuity not included.) The dinner is valued at $5,000, and a minimum bid of $1,500 is requested. Bidding closes Friday, February 1, 2013 at noon CST, and can be placed by visiting https://www.charitybuzz.com/catalog_items/3307245.
"The positive role that sports can play in girl's lives is often undervalued or overlooked. Girls First provides New Orleans girls with the opportunity to play, to experience traditional summer camp, and learn and grow through sports." says Girls First founder Helen Siegel.
