L. A. Loves Alex's Lemonade Culinary Cookout Announced

Goin, Styne and Lentz Host L.A.'s First Alex's Lemonade Culinary Event to Help Foundation Dedicated to Finding a Cure for All Kids with Cancer

Following in the footsteps of the wildly successful Great Chefs Event held annually in Philadelphia, Chef Suzanne Goin, partner Caroline Styne (Lucques, AOC, Tavern) along with Chef David Lentz (The Hungry Cat), will bring culinary greats together in Los Angeles to raise funds and awareness for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF) on Sunday, November 7, 2010 from 12- 4PM at Culver Studios in Culver City. In addition to the culinary stars, actress Jennifer Garner will lend her support to the event as an honorary chairperson. Deemed L.A. Loves Alex's Lemonade, the event, sponsored by Volvo Cars of North America, will invite foodies from all corners of the globe for an afternoon of fantastic fare, cocktails for a cause, a live auction and much more.

Tickets for the event are $150 for General Admission, or $350 for VIP Special Seating and After Party. Tickets are available for purchase at www.lucques.com, www.thehungrycat.com or www.AlexsLemonade.org/campaign/la-loves-alexs-lemonade. All proceeds will benefit ALSF.

Having taken an active role in The Great Chefs Event in Philadelphia for several years, Suzanne Goin, Caroline Styne and David Lentz felt that food fans in the Los Angeles area would respond to a similar event. Thus, the L.A. Loves Alex's Lemonade Event was born. Goin and Lentz will play host, while 20 renowned chefs from across the country lend their time, food and talent by preparing delectable delights for those in attendance. Among the chefs participating will be Marc Vetri, whose Vetri Foundation for Children hosts the event in Philadelphia; Food Network's Giada De Laurentiis, John Besh, Paul Kahan, Jonathan Waxman and many others (for a complete list, see page 2). These chefs will each prepare a dish for guests to sample, creating a culinary cookout atmosphere where guests can mingle and return to their favorite dishes throughout the afternoon. Additionally, cocktail experts Eric Alperin (The Varnish), Neal Boderheimer (Cure) and Tim Staehling (The Hungry Cat) will craft signature drinks for attendees.

"We have been amazed by the generosity and dedication of chefs across the country for many years now, and this culinary cookout event in Los Angeles only further solidifies their allegiance to the battle against childhood cancer," says Jay Scott, Alex's dad. "This truly unique event is sure to please the taste buds of all those in attendance, and will serve as an important fundraising event - I can't think of a better reason to treat yourself to fantastic food and drink."

"We are so pleased to continue our support for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and the battle against childhood cancer through this culinary event, L.A. Loves Alex's Lemonade," says Suzanne Goin.

"We have been supporters of the cause since the first moment we learned of Alex's courageous battle and determination to make a difference, and we are excited to utilize our talents to continue Alex's legacy of hope," added David Lentz.
