The 4th Annual L.A. Loves Alex's Lemonade invites food and wine lovers from all corners of the globe for an afternoon of fantastic fare, cocktails for a cause, children's activities, silent and live auctions, and much more. The 2013 event is shaping up to surpass the aspirations of previous years, with returning chefs Giada De Laurentiis, April Bloomfield, Gabrielle Hamilton, Maria Hines, Jon Shook, Zach Pollack, Matt Accarrino, Jonathan Waxman, Mary Sue Milliken, and new participating chefs Brian Huston, Jenn Louis, Naomi Pomeroy, Adam Perry Lang, Shiho Yoshikawa and Susan Feniger coming together to cook for childhood cancer cures (for a complete list, visit www.AlexsLemonade.org/campaign/la-loves-alexs-lemonade).
In addition to the culinary stars in attendance, young members of NBC's "Parenthood" will once again lend their support by manning the Alex's Lemonade Stand on site. Throughout the afternoon, Tyree Brown, Max Burkholder, Savannah Rae Paige, and Xolo Mariduena will take turns passing out lemonade to attendees.
Additionally, mixologists and vintners from around the globe will be in attendance for samples of their cocktails and fine wines. Mixologists include Eric Alperin, Neal Bodenheimer, Greg Lindgren, Chris Ojeda, Christiaan Rollich and Tim Staehling. For complete list, visit the Mixologists and Vintners section of the 2013 L.A. In addition to General Admission tickets of $175, L.A. Loves Alex's Lemonade will offer a $1,200 premier ticket level including a behind the scenes tour of the venue, watch and meet chefs as they prepare their dishes, as well as a pass to the exclusive chefs dinner the evening before, Friday, September 27.
Tickets for all levels are available for purchase online at www.lucques.com, www.thehungrycat.com or www.AlexsLemonade.org/campaign/la-loves-alexs-lemonade. All proceeds will benefit ALSF.
Galvanized by their experience at The Great Chefs Event benefiting Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation in Philadelphia, Goin, Styne and Lentz felt ready to partner with their east coast friends and lead the way for a Los Angeles-designed event to broaden the reach of the Foundation's fundraising efforts. L.A. supporters enthusiastically responded with huge turnouts in the first three years, sampling signature dishes of more than 35 renowned chefs and reaching over $1.5 million in ticket and auction sales in the short time period. Goin, Styne and Lentz are busily preparing stunning dining and experience packages for the fall 2013 event.
More than 1,200 people attended the 2012 event, which raised over $500,000. Those in attendance, were provided with entertainment from master of ceremonies Jimmy Kimmel, but also heard from Liz and Jay Scott, Alex's parents, and the host of the event Chef Suzanne Goin, business partner Caroline Styne and Chef David Lentz.
