L'academie De Cuisine Launches New Culinary Programm For Professional Cooks
On Monday, May 13, 2002, L'Academie de Cuisine launched its newest continuing education program with an Open House for Washington area Chefs and Restaurateurs at its Gaithersburg location. The Professional Culinary Development Series (PCD) provides the foundation necessary for working cooks to understand all the issues in today's competitive culinary marketplace. Organized around four components, this series will help increase employees' knowledge of classical culinary techniques and broaden their understanding of the professional kitchen.
"Each year L'Academie receives hundreds of requests for trained professionals to staff the kitchens of the area's finest restaurants and hotels", said Francois Dionot, Founder and Director of L'Academie de Cuisine. "As part of our educational mission, we are responding to the region's demand for a professional continuing education course for working cooks. All companies need employees with a wide range of skills and expertise. We are offering a new professional training series to those employees who have the ability and talent to advance in the culinary field but lack formal culinary instruction."
Since 1976, L'Academie de Cuisine has been offering programs designed for students who want a formal education in order to pursue a career in the field of culinary and pastry arts. The one-year Culinary Career Training Program provides a course of study in the theoretical skills and techniques of fine food planning, preparation, and presentation. With L'Academie de Cuisine's emphasis on small class size, students receive personal attention and expert instruction under the direction of European and American trained chefs. L'Academie de Cuisine is located approximately 15 miles from downtown Washington, DC. Our nation's capital is rich in culture and tradition and our students experience a wide array of international cuisines with some truly great chefs in world-class restaurants and hotels.
The school offers both professional career training and recreational classes at two locations in Bethesda and Gaithersburg, Maryland. Other areas of study include the Pastry Arts Program, part-time professional classes, continuing education, and a wide variety of recreational classes.
