Latina Media Ventures (lmv) Introduces The Latin Kitchen

Latina Media Ventures, LLC, the leading multimedia company addressing English-speaking Hispanics in the U.S. and publisher of Latina magazine, today announced the launch of The Latin Kitchen, the premiere online destination for Latin food, cooking, and entertaining. Providing unique and authentic content on Latin food culture, The Latin Kitchen speaks to both the U.S. Latin population and the general market consumer interested in Latin food and entertaining.

Marie Elena Martinez, a leading travel, food and lifestyle writer, will serve as Founding Editor; Lauren Michaels, President of Latina Media Ventures, will oversee advertising and marketing.

"We are incredibly excited to introduce The Latin Kitchen to both Hispanics in the U.S. and people throughout the country who love Latin food as much as we do," said Michaels. "For Latinos all around the world, no matter what country or culture, food and family are key unifiers. Additionally, the popularity of Latin cuisine around the world continues to grow. With 16 years' experience creating culturally relevant and authentic content for Latinos in the U.S., LMV is uniquely positioned to introduce this much-needed web destination."

"In launching The Latin Kitchen, we're offering a hub for culinary coverage and inspiration for those passionate about Latin food," said Martinez. "Latin cuisine is so rich and varied and represents one of the key ways in which U.S. Latinos stay connected to their culture. And, with the seismic growth of the U.S. Latin population, Latin food has become a standard cuisine among non-Latinos as well. "

The 2010 census reports that there are over 50 million Latinos living in the U.S. today, comprising the second largest consumer group with a spending power of $1 trillion. Latin cuisine in the U.S. continues to grow in popularity, and at 62%, it currently makes up the highest percentage of the $2.2 billion ethnic food market.

"Latin food, entertaining and travel content is sporadically dispersed across the web, and The Latin Kitchen conveniently covers all of these topics in one rich and interactive destination," said Martinez. "Whether readers are looking for recipe, beverage, and entertaining tips, tutorials on exotic ingredients, conversations with talented chefs anchoring Latin kitchens around the world, or travel ideas, The Latin Kitchen provides inspiration and answers for all of these important aspects of Latin cuisine."

The Latin Kitchen's many contributors will include Evette Rios, Christy Vega, Melissa Guerra, Pati Jinich, Roberto Santibanez, and Wilo Benet, as well as a regular cast of popular Latin food bloggers. At launch, The Latin Kitchen will feature favorite culinary talents such as Michelle Bernstein, Ingrid Hoffman, Jose Garces, Enrique Olvera, Richard Sandoval, Marcela Valladolid, Zarela Martinez, Aarn Sanchez, Lorena Garcia, Jos Andrs, celebrities Soledad O'Brien, Natalie Morales, Mario Lopez, and many more.
