Lesley B. Fay's Cookbook Now On Amazon Kindle!

Lesley B. Fay, of Graham's Grille in Taos, NM is no stranger to cookbooks. Since age four, her art and passion has been and remains cooking and recipes. "Straight from the Heart" her recent cookbook is a combination of stories and recipes that come straight from her heart and years of experience in the kitchen.

The cookbook is a huge hit with the patrons at Grahams Grille that enjoy the creative and unpretentious cuisine and want to create it at home. And, now that the world of technology has brought us the famous I Pad and Kindle Readers, "Straight from the Heart" has now been added to Amazon as an E book.

The 224-page book includes Lesley's stories; and her most requested recipes for items such her touted Macaroni & Cheese with Green Chile & Smoked Bacon, Mom's Meatloaf, Ensenada Shrimp Salad, Muffaletta Sandwich and of course her famous desserts; S'Mores Chocolate Nachos, Southern Bourbon Pecan Tart (the recipe the Jones made) , and her Famous Margarita Key Lime Pie. In the back of the cookbook are butters and spice blends along with resources, shortcuts and tips. The shortcuts and tips section provides the non-guilt substitutions for recipes and ingredients. It is a one-stop shop for recipes for every occasion. In addition to the cookbook, people can buy the Lesley's proprietary spices referred to in the cookbook recipes.

"Straight from the Heart" is written to speak to the enormous pleasure of cooking, eating and sharing delicious meals with family and friends." See this lovely email from the Jones Family and their experience cooking together with "Straight from the Heart"

Please permit me to share this special (to me) story with you. Many months ago, you provided me the opportunity to purchase 3 of your "Straight from the Heart" cooking classics, one for each of my daughters and one for me. This past Saturday, Feb. 4th, my 80th birthday was acknowledged by some 20 or so family members--our children, grandchildren and spouses-- at a special dinner planned and organized by our two daughters, recipients of "Straight from the Heart". Here was the setting: they chose 6 items from "Straight........." Moroccan bean dip; Graham's greens with Lesley's herb vinaigrette; Taos tamale pie; Lesley's frijoles; BBQ big-ass shrimp; pecan tart. There were 6 work stations, one for each recipe item, and our family was divided into 6 groups--including grandkids down to age 11--and each group was responsible for one of the recipes for our meal. There was no skimping or short cuts. Each work station had the appropriate ingredients all of which needed preparation and each recipe was calculated down to the last grain of black pepper. We chopped, diced, minced; we had Pickappepa Sauce (I had never heard of it); we prepared Maque Choux, New Mexican green chili sauce; Harissa and Ras el Hanout. Moreover, daughters (Moira and Rebecca) had to provide ingredients to extend the recipes for 20+ people. You know what? It all came together; there was a remarkable sense of family togetherness as we worked and laughed to make this happen. The meal was absolutely fantastic and I think you would have been proud of us. During Moira and Rebecca's explanation to us about what we were to be doing for our dinner, they shared your "Straight from the Heart" with your photogenic smiling face with the entire family. My sister, Ann (she also has a copy of your book) and I shared our experience of the wonderful lunch we had at Graham's Grille and our brief visit with you during the lunch.

I am sure many others have shared cooking experiences based on your book and probably many have done the same thing I just described so my story will not be new nonetheless, I just had to tell y
