The James Beard Foundation recognizes the chef Campbell as a pioneer for bringing imaginative, exceptionally executed food to the Upper West Side. His commitment to the community extends to creating exciting cultural events, matched by the excitement in the room and on the plate, has given rise to a truly unique promotion  Live @ SQC  which is free and open to the public. Beginning on October 14th, every Tuesday from 4:00PM to 5:00PM, Chef Scott Campbell will host a best selling author for an informal chat, followed by a tasting inspired by the authors work (or a recipe from a visiting authors cookbook) prepared by Chef Campbell. Think of a TV talk show format, and Im the host interviewing a guest  only it takes place in a restaurant, without cameras, and you get to actually taste some food  which is hard to do through a television screen, according to Campbell. This season, Live @ SQC kicks off a season of renowned chefs and authors with Bill Yosses, Executive Pastry Chef of Citarella and author of Desserts for Dummies, on Tuesday, October 14 at 4:00PM.

According to John Mariani, guests are well greeted and seated in a 91 seat dining room with bar that has the lighting just about perfect - a cuddly shadowy atmosphere and are served food which is pretty wonderful and delightfully presented.
