Living La Dolce Vita! -- Lugo Lifestyle
(New York, NY August 2008) -- In an ongoing effort to further build the Lugo brand, Lugo is now The Lugo Tailored Lifestyle - encompassing Italian style, food and wine. Since its inception last year, Lugo has been a popular destination in NYC for Italian fashion. With the growth of the brand to The Lugo Lifestyle, Lugo has now created an online boutique to accompany the flagship Lugo Tailored Menswear Boutique on Mott Street. Lugo will offer its Mott Street collection for purchase online as well as customer profiles for custom tailoring and door to door delivery. In addition, the ever - growing brand will be launching the Lugo Caffe this fall located at the iconic 1 Penn Plaza between 7th and 8th avenues in the heart of bustling midtown and directly across the street from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. The Italian cafe will transform its interior into a cozy, traditional and classic setting, boasting an extensive wine list by the carafe, classic Italian cocktails, a full aperitivo program and a delicious menu of authentic, fresh comfort food recipes.
Lugo Caffe marks the Lugo brand's debut in the restaurant industry offering a distinctive experience to diners. It provides guests with a unique concept that boasts the aesthetic flare of the energetic Lugo brand. Lugo Caffe was created to bring la Dolce Vita to dining. Its concept is to bring back to life the classic grand Italian caf culture providing an exceptional dining atmosphere along with a full range of Lugo lifestyle retail products. In addition to the 4,000 + square feet of indoor dining space, Lugo also offers two separate outside patios. The artistic interior design was created by Crme Design's Jun Aizaki who also is known for Alma de Cuba in Philadelphia and Rayuela in NYC.
Guests can enjoy Lugo's delicious set of choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A fresh and original menu has been created, inspired by authentic Italian comfort foods including grilled thin crust pizzas, veal chop, salami, handmade pastas, and shared plates of appetizers. The average entre will be between $18 -$ 24, appetizers from $12-$16, and $16 for pizzas. Lugo Caffe will also feature a delicious signature dish of Roman Artichokes inspired by an old family recipe, 'Carcioffi all giudea'. This dish is an important menu addition because the artichoke is an iconic Roman symbol in cuisine and is visually a theme presented throughout the caffe and logo.
In addition to the tasty offerings, the Lugo Caffe will also feature the Lugo Menswear Collection as it is worn by the staff as well as featured in custom Lugo glass cases. The caf is essentially an extension of the highly successful Lugo brand. Italian style has always captured a unique sense of natural elegance, or sprezzatura -- a term often used to describe the boldness and manner of dress of the iconic Gianni Agnelli. In an effort to adapt such understated elegance to the modern setting, Lugo utilizes traditional Italian tailoring with their classic fabrics and their youthful cut. Lugo is not art; it is simply a means by which their customers can indulge themselves in a product that makes life a little sweeter. Lugo Caffe features the vision and style of the Lugo brand. So now fans of Lugo can enjoy the Lugo vision and superb service, not only in their Nolita store but in their newly opened caf.
Lugo Caffe is open daily from11:00 am to midnight. For reservations and more information, call 212 760 2700 or visit their newly launched website www.lugocaffe.com
"Just as we did with the Nolita store, we are bringing la dolce vita to New York; Lugo Caffe captures the convivial charm of the Italian cafe culture".
