Lucky Strike Announces Its New Chef, Among Other Things

Opened by Keith McNally (Pastis, Schiller's Liquor Bar, Pravda. . .) and Edward Youkilis (Edward's) in 1989, Lucky Strike is a casual downtown bistro serving American Continental and French food. Live DJs and fresh, original cocktails make Lucky Strike the perfect place for a laid back drink in a bustling setting, an intimate meal or a larger gathering.

Lucky Strike announces the addition of Wen Chen as it's new Executive Chef. Chef Chen was formerly at Odeon and Papillon among other places and has been working in New York City kitchens for 18 years. Lucky Strike's menu remains the same but the dishes are reflective of his hand.

Chef Chen's own creations are in his daily specials based on what is fresh at the market such as a salad of grilled asparagus and fresh mozzarella with lemon truffle oil, or seared striped bass with fava beans, gnocci and basil oil. Chef Chen uses superior basic ingredients such as fine olive oil and sea salt enhancing each dish to bring out the flavors of each main ingredient while adding to some dishes an herbaceous accent. Finer cuts of meat, fresh fish, market fresh produce, carefully selected cheeses and homemade pastas are what enhance Lucky Strike's existing menu.

To bring his hand to the mouths of the city, Chef Chen will prepare a special 3-course prix fixe menu which will change over the course of five days and will include an appetizer, entre and the Lucky Lemonade a refreshing spring cocktail (not a dessert as most would expect) made of Kettle One Citron, lemonade, cranberry juice and mint.

Sunday, May 6 - Thursday, May 10, 2007 - all day long

Lunch/ Brunch - $17 (will include Lucky Strike's Bloody Mary or a Mimosa)
Dinner - $25

And who knows. . . maybe it will be your LUCKY DAY. . .

During its five day long introduction to Chef Chen, Lucky Strike will be having a lottery.

How it Works:
1. Ask for your check.
2. Server comes over with a champagne bucket filled with numbers.
3. Look down to see what your table number is.
4. Pick a number out of the bucket and PRAY.

If the number you pick matches your table number. . . your entire tables meal is complimentary.
