Luckyrice Launches Asian Food Festival And Restaurant Week Nyc: April 29 - May 9

LUCKYRICE LAUNCHES FIRST EVER ASIAN FOOD FESTIVAL AND RESTAURANT WEEK IN NEW YORK CITY

Week Long Asian Culinary and Cultural Event Featuring Star Chefs and Food Personalities, Chic Cocktail Parties, Grand Tastings and Exclusive Chef Dinners Followed by a Celebratory Restaurant Week with Participating Restaurants



NEW YORK, New York (January 22, 2010) - LUCKYRICE, an integrated media and marketing company about Asian culinary culture, announces today the launch of the first annual LUCKYRICE Festival followed by the LUCKYRICE Restaurant and Bar Week in New York City, Spring 2010. The festivities will explore cuisines and culture of Asia in America through grand tastings, cocktail parties and other epicurean events including a Night Market and a Sunset Luau. LUCKYRICE Restaurant Week will offer prix-fixe lunches and dinners at participating restaurants selected by the LUCKYRICE Culinary Council.


The LUCKYRICE Festival is scheduled for Thursday, April 29th to Monday, May 2nd followed by Restaurant Week Wednesday, May 3rd to Sunday, May 9th. The inaugural event, benefiting City Harvest and the Asian American Federation is presented in partnership with the LUCKYRICE Culinary Council and Conde Nast Traveler, Time Out New York and Edible Manhattan.


The Culinary Council consists of some of the top names in the culinary world today including Daniel Boulud, Anthony Bourdain, Floyd Cardoz, David Chang, Michael "Bao" Huynh, Susur Lee, Anita Lo, Masaharu Morimoto, Pichet Ong, Tadashi Ono, Zak Pelaccio, Eric Ripert, Marcus Samuelsson, Angelo Sosa, Albert Trummer and Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Curated by Albert Trummer, the mastermind behind the Chinatown speakeasy Apoth�ke, experience the new wave of cocktail culture: hand-crafted artisanal spirits mixed with kitchen-fresh ingredients, Chinese medicinal herbs and Asian fruits. Tasty Asian drinking snacks will be served up along with music to groove to in the Bowery Hotel's swank second floor lounge. Join us for an enlightening conversation between acclaimed Chefs Eric Ripert of Le Bernardin, David Chang of Momofuku and Buddhist authority Professor Robert Thurman of Columbia University and Tibet House as they discuss the connection between Buddhist ethics and food as well as the impact of Buddhism on their lives, in and out of the kitchen.
