Saint Patrick's Day and Easter with Taste of Little River,
a Celtic concert and Bunny Camp
LITTLE RIVER, Calif.-February 28, 2013-Little River Inn, the family-owned and operated boutique resort on the Mendocino coast, is abuzz with festivities throughout the month of March as it celebrates the 31st Annual Mendocino Coast Whale Festival with a special Whale Rate and the Taste of Little River from March 6-11; Saint Patrick's Day with a Celtic concert by Coast Celtic Band on March 17; and Easter with the annual Bunny Camp on March 30.
The Mendocino Coast Whale Festival returns for its 31st year this March. Taking place over three weekends in Mendocino, Little River and Fort Bragg, the Festival's popular Taste of Little River takes place on Saturday, March 9, at Little River Inn. A showcase of the area's best food and wine, the tasting event offers samples of culinary specialties from local establishments including Glendeven Inn, Wild Fish, and Little River Inn, paired with local wines such as Handley Cellars, Graziano, and Husch Vineyards. The event benefits a fund to save the historic Spring Ranch Barns of Little River. Built in 1864 and donated to the state as open space, these barns will be on public display for the first time ever on Sunday, March 10. In honor of the Festival, Little River Inn offers a special Whale Rate from March 6-11, offering three nights' accommodations for the price of two. Tickets for Taste of Little River are $25.
On Saint Patrick's Day, Sunday, March 17, Little River Inn will host a traditional Celtic concert by popular local group Coast Celtic Band in Ole's Whale Watch Bar from 5:30-8:30 p.m. (Admission is complimentary.) Guests can also enjoy Irish fare at the Little River Inn Restaurant that night, including Chef Marc Dym's Corned Beef and Cabbage ($24), and the bar will offer Sue's Irish Coffee ($9).
On Saturday, March 30, Little River Inn hosts Bunny Camp, a morning of family-friendly fun to benefit S.O.S. - Networking For Mendocino Coast Companion Animals. Bunny Camp guests can look forward to face-painting, balloon animals, fun with bubbles and an appearance from the Easter Bunny, followed by an Easter egg hunt. There will also be animals available for adoption. Bunny Campers are invited to enjoy Bunny Brunch beforehand in the restaurant, featuring bunny-shaped Swedish pancakes, eggs and a cup of hot chocolate for $5. Bunny Camp session is 10:30 a.m. to noon with a limit of 30 campers, and costs
$10 per camper.
