Michael Klein Named Executive Chef At Emory Conference Center Hotel In Atlanta
Michael Klein, CEC, was recently named executive chef of the Emory Conference Center Hotel in Atlanta. The full service "green" property includes a 198-room hotel and 26,000 square feet of meeting space. The facility is a member of the International Association of Conference Centers (IACC).
Chef Klein joins the Emory Conference Center Hotel from Le Cordon Bleu Schools of North America, where he served as the national education manager and as the dean of culinary arts at the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Atlanta, which he helped open in 2003.
With more than 25 years of hospitality experience, Klein has served as an executive chef, food and beverage director and director of operations at several establishments including the Atlanta Marriott Gwinnett Place; Sheraton Suites Galleria in Atlanta; Peachtree Executive Conference Center in Peachtree City, GA; Windsor Hotel in Americus, GA; the AAA Four Diamond Martha Washington Inn in Abingdon, VA; the Mobil Four Star Hotel Roanoke in VA; the Virgin Isle Hilton Resort in St. Thomas, USVI; and the Park Suite Hotel in Orlando, FL. He began his career as a sous chef at the Midnight Sun dinner theater, formerly in downtown Atlanta, after an externship in Cincinnati, OH, at the Mobil Five Star Le Maisonette restaurant.
Chef Klein trained at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park, NY, and earned the designation of Certified Executive Chef through the American Culinary Federation (ACF). He has served as an ACF chapter president twice and on several regional committees. Chef Klein also participates in various charity fundraisers and often lends his time to help inspire the next generation of chefs and industry professionals.
