More Collaborative Events at the PASS

Matthew Ridgway’s French cuisine “roadhouse”, has been a welcome addition to the restaurant scene for diners in Bucks and Hunterdon Counties. The locals have gotten used to seeing The PASS parking lot filled with travelers from Philadelphia and New York, but lately it’s Matt’s chef colleagues that are dropping by for a visit.

Last month’s special event dinner with critically acclaimed chef, Christopher Kearse quickly sold out (http://www.atthepass.com/special-event---july-22.html) and was met with a full house of enthusiastic and happy diners.

Two special-event collaborative meals are planned for September. On September 16, Josh Lawler from The Farm and Fisherman, joins Matt for a “Last of Summer Feast”. Lawler’s restaurant has earned him rave reviews from The Inquirer and Philadelphia Magazine, and is recognized as a leader in the farm-to-table movement and one of Philly’s best BYOBs. This single seating dinner for fifty includes a few interesting touches, like some “for the table” served dishes, and dining room carving of a baron of lamb a la ficelle. See the menu at http://www.atthepass.com/dinner-with-josh-lawler.html

On September 28, The PASS is honored to welcome Ridgway’s friend and mentor, Philadelphia culinary legend, Jean-Marie Lacroix. Ridgway left The Fountain with Lacroix to serve as chef de cuisine at Lacroix at The Rittenhouse when it opened in 2002. Together they will recreate the original Brunch at Lacroix they conceived for Chef Lacroix’s namesake restaurant. There will be a first seating at 10am, and a second seating, including raw oysters on the half-shell, at 1pm.

The PASS brings French cuisine to a rustic country setting a few miles upriver from New Hope and Lambertville. Ridgway was a saucier for Jean-Marie Lacroix at the Fountain Room in the Four Seasons, before serving as chef de cuisine at Lacroix, and later as chef de cuisine for chef Joel Antunes.

Joshua Lawler is chef/owner of The Farm and Fisherman, a 2012 James Beard semifinalist for "Best New Restaurant" in America. Lawler also served as chef de cuisine at Blue Hill at Stone Barns, the acclaimed Pocantico Hills, New York restaurant owned by James Beard award-winning "Chef of the Year" Dan Barber, named by Food & Wine magazine as one of their "10 Life-Changing Restaurants."
