The original Atkins Park Restaurant is located at 794 North Highland Avenue in Atlanta's Virginia Highland area. Bringing a taste of Virginia Highland to the 'burbs, Atkins Park Tavern is located in Smyrna's Shops at Village Green at 2840 Atlanta Road.

NEW ATKINS PARK TAVERN INVESTING IN TWO EMERGING ATLANTA COMMUNITIES Legendary Atkins Park Group Set to Open Two Locations within the Next Year

ATLANTA (May 24, 2006) - The Atkins Park Group, owners of the original Atkins Park - Virginia Highland location and Atkins Park Tavern - Smyrna, are pleased to announce the opening of two new locations. The first, in Cumming, will be located at the Vickery Village retail and business center. Vickery is a brand new neighborhood located 20 miles from Atlanta, designed to be a true community where neighbors become friends. Better Homes and Gardens recently profiled Vickery stating, "Vickery embraces what really matters to the American family." Every great neighborhood needs a great watering hole and Atkins Park Tavern - Vickery Village is just that.

Executive Chef of the new Cumming location is rising culinary star Jason "JJ" McFarland. McFarland comes to the Vickery Village location with years of experience in steakhouses and other high-end restaurants in the Southeast, including Old Original Bookbinders in Richmond, VA, Copper Grill Lobster and Steak House in Richmond, VA and McKendrick's Steak House in Atlanta. For the past year, McFarland has served as Sous Chef under Andrew Smith at Atkins Park - Virginia Highlands location.

The 3,500 square foot location has been built from the ground-up beginning in December 2005. The space has been carefully crafted to fit unobtrusively into the classic aesthetic of the Vickery Village community. All aspects of interior architecture and design were produced through a partnership with Atlanta-based designed Jack Thilenius.

Sandra Spoon, partner in the Atkins Park Restaurant Group says, "We are very excited about opening a restaurant in the Vickery Village community. It has already become one of Atlanta's best places to live, play, work and, of course, eat and drink." In early 2007 The Atkins Park Group will expands its reach to the historic Brookhaven neighborhood of Buckhead. With the new location breaking ground in 2007, Atkins Park - Brookhaven will model the original Atkins Park, maintaining the traditional tavern feel.
