"New" Chefs for a "New" New Orleans
NYC and New Orleans Chefs Unite to Host
New Orleans Economic Development Fundraiser
September 3, 2005 - Legions of chefs from New York City ands New Orleans are joining forces to donate their time, talent, and perspective to a special fundraising effort intended to spur restaurant and hospitality redevelopment in New Orleans. The event, entitled "New Chefs for a New New Orleans," will showcase next generation talent including NYC Chefs Galen Zamarra of Mas and Sue Torres of Sueqos, as well as New Orleans Chefs Bob Iacovone of Cuvie and Chuck Subra of La Ctte Brasserie. Additional participants will be announced later this week. Chefs will design signature inspired New Orleans fare to be served at The Cornell Club-New York, October 11th, from 7:00pm - 9:00pm.
Ticket costs will be $175 per person. In addition to the signature fare, beverages, and entertainment, there will be a silent auction. Cash donations will be accepted as well. All event proceeds will benefit New Orleans tourism efforts through the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau.

However, as anticipated, in traditional NYC fashion, response has been overwhelming to help one of the nation's pre-eminent food cities rise again!"
