New Documentary Series Gives Fast Casual Restaurant Segment A New Platform

Fast Casual Nation is the first documentary series that focuses on the inner-workings of the Fast Casual segment in the restaurant industry. Hosted and founded by industry guru and Chipotle Effect author Paul Barron, Fast Casual Nation provides restaurateurs, chefs and foodies with up-and-coming trends, insights and behind-the-scenes videos of this fast-moving industry. A new concept joins the show each episode to discuss his or her firsthand insight on building their concept or brand.

"The idea for Fast Casual Nation came about from the start of Fastcasual.com in 1996 and the need to tell the story of the shifting restaurant business, not only to the industry, but to consumers as well. Fast Casual is really changing the way America eats, and this is a critical step in the history of how the restaurant business will survive in the coming decades," said Barron.

The first, 12-episode season features restaurant concepts like BurgerFi, The Cheese Course, Velvet Taco, Modmarket, Smashburger, and Garbonzo Mediterranean Grill. Season Two, which will feature 18 episodes, is set to kick off in January and will run through June 2013.
Barron was the leading evangelist in what is now known as the era of Fast Casual, and has spent the last 16 years launching the industry-leading website, magazine, event and association around the Fast Casual restaurant segment. Since then, Fast Casual has become the leading restaurant segment in a $700 billion market. Barron is also founder of FastCasual.com and QSRweb.com, and is author of The Chipotle Effect.
Fast Casual Nation is part of DigitalCoCo Productions, which also produces Turn & Burn, Foodie GeekTV, and Table 42.
