New: Indian Wells Tavern

Indian Wells Tavern has opened in Amagansett at the former Estia Cantina. Kevin Boles and Chris Eggert who also own Bostwicks in East Hampton and Cherrystones in East Hampton, opened Indian Wells Tavern in March 2008. Indian Wells Tavern is a casual American tavern that features dark wood accented by antique lanterns. Inside the dark wood is featured throughout, accented by exposed brick walls, pressed tin ceiling and deep green carpet, upholstery and walls. A long 30ft bar extends the length of one side of the space coupled with bar tables and three flat screen TVs. The dining area features dark wood tables and booths accented by pendant light fixtures offering dim lighting. Local black and white photography also adorns the walls.

The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menus created by Executive Chef Chris Eggert include breakfast items ranging from $10 - $13; lunch items from $7 - $18; and appetizers ranging from $8 - $ 14; and entrees ranging from $12 - $24, on the dinner menu. Breakfast selections include: eggs benedict with fresh poached eggs with lean smoked ham and hollandaise sauce on a jumbo toasted English muffin, served with home fries; flower power platter with crunchy granola, low fat yogurt and a variety of fresh melons, berried and bananas; and Tavern toast with thick sliced cranberry walnut raisin bread soaked in egg batter and grilled to perfection, topped with fresh berries and bananas. Lunch items include: Amagansett cobb salad with grilled chicken, fresh avocado, applewood smoked bacon, ripe tomatoes, red onion and crumbled gorgonzola cheese served over crisp greens; chicken Florentine sandwich with grilled chicken breast topped with saut�ed baby spinach and melted mozzarella cheese on a grilled peasant roll, with cole slaw, pickle and potato chips; and Portobello stack with roasted Portobello mushrooms with melted goat cheese and grilled onions neatly piled on a grilled peasant roll, with cole slaw, pickle, and potato chips. The dinner menu includes appetizer and entr�e selections. Appetizers include: fried pickle chips with Delancy street pickles, lightly dusted and fried golden brown, serves with a caper aioli; and Tavern onion soup with loads of sweet onions in a rich broth with a toasted sourdough crouton and melted Swiss cheese. Entrees selections include: Indian Wells Fajitas served on a sizzling cast iron skillet with grilled onions, pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream and warm flour tortillas with a choice of grilled marinated chicken breast; grilled marinated steak; combo chicken and skirt steak; or seasonal vegetables; Tavern burger with freshly ground beef, char grilled to your liking, served on a toasted bun with lettuce and tomato, cole slaw, pickles and tavern fries; and house smoked Saint Louis ribs fall off the bone tender, mopped with BBQ sauce and finished on the grill, and served with sweet potato fries and cole slaw.

Indian Wells Tavern is open Tuesday - Sunday; closed on Monday; serving breakfast 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.; lunch 12 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.; bar menu 2:30 p.m. - 5 p.m.; and dinner 5 p.m. - 11 p.m. The bar is also open till 2 a.m.
