AS GUEST CHEF AT CURRANT BRASSERIE
WHAT: Culinary enthusiasts and industry talents will gather as Executive Chef Jonathan Pflueger welcomes world renowned chef, Wayne Nish, as a guest in his kitchen for one very special evening to create an inspired 7-course menu at Currant American Brasserie. The evening's menu is as follows:
Poached Spiny Lobster with Sea Urchin Roe and Sweet Nori
Sashimi with Meyer Lemon, Olive Oil and White Soy Sauce
Salt-Cured and Smoked Black Cod with Punterelle and Purple Baby Artichokes
Squab, Seared and Braised with Black Kale and Crosnes
Seared Brandt Beef and Sweetbreads with Baby Carrots and Piopinni Mushrooms
Honeydew and Galia Melon Soup with Tangerines, Pomegranate,
Meyer Lemon Wafer and Sage Tempura
WHO: One of few chefs to have a total of 16 stars bestowed upon him by The New York Times, and a Michelin star in 2006, Chef Wayne Nish's illustrious career spans nearly three decades, a considerable range of cuisines, and has earned him the reputation as one of the country's most innovative culinary talents. Drawing culinary inspiration from New York City's historical and cultural diversities, Nish has made headlines for his iconoclastic approach in the kitchen, transcending global boundaries to create dishes that are truly his own. Acclaimed for his work at NYC's legendary restaurants, La Colombe d'Or and The Quilted Giraffe, Nish went on to open March in 1990, which remained a centerpiece on the New York dining scene for nearly 17 years.
