New Zealand's Venerable Cloudy Bay Launches Limited Release Riesling

- Cloudy Bay, the winery whose reputation for winemaking excellence has put New Zealand wines on the global wine map, is pleased to announce the release of a new limited production Riesling.

Sourced predominantly from the winery's Mustang Vineyard in the foothills of the picturesque Brancott sub region of the Wairau Valley, Cloudy Bay Riesling 2010 reflects the pure expression of New World Marlborough fruit with a touch of the best Old World Alsace influences.

"The Mustang Vineyard has significantly lower rainfall and heavier soils than our Estate and Widow's Block vineyards (home to our benchmark Sauvignon Blanc), making it particularly suitable for growing world-class Riesling" said Tim Heath, winemaker of Cloudy Bay's Riesling.

Exquisitely fragrant on the nose, Cloudy Bay Riesling 2010 combines the vibrant aromas of lime zest with mandarin sherbert and white flowers. On the palate, lush flavors of honeysuckle and red apple are nicely balanced by a solid spine of acidity and an elegant layer of minerality that lingers through to a clean, long finish.
