Nombe Debuts Japanese Beer Garden
Combine a Japanese favorite summer beverage, beer, with a westernized drinking venue, the beer garden, and you get a popular urban escape right here in San Francisco. On Friday, June 29th, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Nombe hosts its first of many summer beer garden events at nearby Wix Lounge. A portion of proceeds will benefit La Cocina, a non-profit incubator program that supports low-income edible enterprises. www.lacocinasf.org
Wix Lounge (www.wixloungesf.com), located only 1 block from Nombe in the US Bank building, at the corner of 22nd and Mission, is the perfect urban rooftop space to enjoy a few pints and savor Nombe's inventive Izakaya fare. For $60, including tax and gratuity, guests can enjoy:
- 3 pints of beer (Your choice of Kirin, Sapporo, and Asahi draft and bottled beers, poured on-site by the vendors! Additional beer tickets can be purchased the night of the event ($5 per ticket).
- Hand-rolled sushi
- Edamame hummus, taro chips
- Oysters on the half-shell, tobiko scallions, ponzu
- Grilled Kurobuta pork belly
