Nombe Hosts Grand Pairings With Star Sommeliers Mark Bright And Rajat Parr
On December 4th and December 8th, San Francisco's Nombe Restaurant is hosting two wine and food pairing dinners with acclaimed sommeliers Mark Bright and Rajat Parr.
The December 4th event features Bright, Saison Sommelier and partner and Vinyl Wine Bar co-owner. The December 8th event features Parr, wine director of the Michael Mina Group and author of the James Beard award-winning title Secrets of the Sommeliers. Both events are $75 per person and include a four-course tasting and wine and sake pairing. Both events begin at 7 p.m.
The special menus, prepared by Nombe Executive Chef and co-owner Mari Takahashi, focus on the seasonality of the ingredients and highlight the versatility of Japanese cuisine. Wines will be curated by each sommelier, with a good chance of Bright's own Penny Wines making an appearance on his evening's list. Nombe co-owner and Sake Sommelier Gil Payne will be on hand to introduce sakes for each course, pulled from the restaurant's vast sake list, culminating in a wine- and sake-filled evening not to be missed.
