Old Soul booking dates through January, now offers five course menu
(Los Angeles, CA - January 4, 2012) - this is not a pop-upTM will continue Old Soul dinners with Jeremy Fox Thursdays through Sundays in January at Square One Dining in Hollywood, beginning next Thursday, January 10th. Dinner will increase to five courses, and remain a $50 per person set menu that will change weekly or daily according to market availability; a vegetarian option will also be available. Reservations are now being taken on the website at www.thisisnotapopup.com and by phone at 323.451.1767. Dinners are BYOB, and wines specifically chosen to complement the meal can be ordered by calling Domaine LA at 323.932.0280 (purchased bottles will be delivered and waiting at the restaurant). About Jeremy Fox
Jeremy Fox opened Ubuntu in 2007, where he was named a Food & Wine Best New Chef 2008, Bon Appetit's 2009 Best Chef, and received James Beard Best Chef Pacific Award nominations in both 2009 and 2010. In Fall 2009, Ubuntu became the first modern vegetarian restaurant to receive a Michelin Star. Prior to Ubuntu, Jeremy spent five years working for his mentor, Chef David Kinch, at Manresa, eventually rising to the position of Chef de Cuisine. During his tenure, Manresa received two Michelin Stars and four stars from the San Francisco Chronicle. Fox has also staged at the Michelin three-star Restaurant Gordon Ramsay and the widely acclaimed St. John, both in London, as well as the Michelin two-star De Snippe in Belgium. Since leaving Ubuntu, Jeremy has been working on a vegetable cookbook for Phaidon Press and has consulted for restaurants including Plum, Tyler Florence's Rotisserie & Wine, Freddy Smalls, and Paper or Plastik Cafe.
About Helena Brown
Helena Brown most recently worked with Daniel Patterson, chef/owner of the critically acclaimed Michelin two-star restaurant Coi, where she helped open and operate Plum, Plum Bar, and Haven. Helena first fell in love with food while living in Paris, but it was while working in Senegal that she expanded her palate to include non-Western cuisine. Upon her return to the US, Helena took over management and cooking for her family's caf� in the East Bay which was subsequently named 'Most Enterprising New Business' by the East Bay Express. Helena has also spent time as a film production coordinator and as Production Manager for WIRED Magazine.
About Helen Springut
Helen Springut launched her career in Food & Beverage with the Thrillist Media Group, where she oversaw local and national e-commerce partnerships for Thrillist Rewards. Helen is Co-Founder of the LA Fried Chicken Fest and Brew Something LA (the Los Angeles craft beer professionals' society); consults for food festivals and national F&B brands, including the LA Times' The Taste; and is Marketing Chair for Share Our Strength's Taste of the Nation LA. Helen also runs LA Gastronauts, and has produced events including the Foie Gras Festival at Wilshire Restaurant, the pop-up Weed and Herb Dinner with Starry Kitchen and Laurent Quenioux, and the Top Chef Pig Roast.
