The Oceanaire. Seafood Room, Houston's smart and sophisticated seafood restaurant, opens in the splashy Houston's Galleria restaurant row Nov. 18. Houstonians will soon enjoy the luxurious ultra-fresh seafood masterpieces of Chef/ Partner Trevor White as they dive into a trove of culinary treasures.
The Oceanaire's dedication to exceptional service and superior quality is reflected in its assortment of fresh seafood. Guests are hooked as they partake in the menu's daily selections, including the confectionary Nantucket Bay Scallops, the luscious Yellowfin "Ahi" Tuna, the alluring Gulf Red Snapper, the tempting Texas Gulf Flounder and the juicy Jumbo Prawns.
The restaurant's specialty dishes are guaranteed to have a little something for all moods. Seafood is flown in daily and menu items change by the day and in some cases, by the hour. From traditional favorites such as Lobster Thermidor, Chesapeake Bay Style Crab Cakes, Jumbo Shrimp Scampi and Cioppino, the San Francisco-style fisherman's stew, to the Grilled Hawaiian Swordfish, a delicacy with Smoked Maitake Mushrooms and Huckleberry Port Wine Reduction, guests will enjoy the world's best seafood.
The restaurant, conveniently located in Galleria Houston's splashy restaurant row, exudes the ambiance akin to a classic 1930s ocean liner. Guests will dine in a comfortable, spacious dining room, complete with traditional table-style or horseshoe booth seating. Diners can relax and sip on a cocktail in the intimate setting of the lounge or tantalize their taste buds at the oyster bar. The Oceanaire allows Houstonians and visitors to "sail away" to a sophisticated but simpler time of Americana, without leaving the Galveston port.
Since its glorious 1998 unveiling in Minneapolis, Minn., The Oceanaire has opened its doors to and delighted seafood lovers in numerous U.S. cities, including Washington, DC, San Diego, Atlanta and Philadelphia. In November, the Houston location, under the proprietorship of Greyson Lewis, joins those lucky few for a chance to experience worldly enchantment.

Lunch is served from 11:30a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday-Friday; dinner is served from 5-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday and from 5-11 p.m. Friday. Lunch will be offered in 2007.
