Ole Smokyr Moonshine Partners With Nascar's Charlotte Motor Speedway
Ole Smoky Moonshine, made in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, is going full throttle with Charlotte Motor Speedway to bring North Carolina's NASCAR fans some shine this May on the weekends of May 18-19 and May 26-27. The partnership follows a lucrative deal this past year with NASCAR's Bristol Motor Speedway.
Ole Smoky, based in Gatlinburg, is the first federally licensed distillery in East Tennessee. The company, a locally owned family business, credits their success to an authentic 100-year old family recipe. While Ole Smoky's roots run deep in Gatlinburg, moonshines roots run deep with NASCAR. During Prohibition, the runners who gave law enforcement the slip to deliver illegal hooch to customers eventually became NASCAR's first drivers. The folks at Ole Smoky are thrilled to bring moonshine back to racing - albeit legally.
"We are proud to bring Ole Smoky to the Charlotte Motor Speedway," said Ole Smoky Co-Founder Joseph Baker. "North Carolina has been a key state in the growth of our company and we're thrilled to strengthen our connection with this collaboration. The roots of this partnership with racing run deep. As we all know, moonshine brought us racing and now we're bringing moonshine back to racing."
On May 18-19, ticket holders at Charlotte Motor Speedway will be able to put the pedal to the metal with Ole Smoky during events that include Blake Shelton Concert (where Ole Smoky cocktails will be sold on the infield of the track), Pennzoil Ultra Victory Challenge Saturday, Sprint Showdown Saturday and the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race. During Memorial Day Weekend (May 26-27) guests can sip some 'shine and take in the Circle K NOS Energy Showdown, History 300/Global RallyCross and the Coca-Cola 600.
Ole Smoky Moonshine, is mountain made and packaged in traditional 750 ml mason jars. Ole Smoky flagship products include OLE SMOKY ORIGINAL MOONSHINE (100 proof "sippin' moonshine"), OLE SMOKY MOONSHINE CHERRIES (fresh maraschino cherries soaked in 100 proof White Lightin' moonshine) and OLE SMOKY APPLE PIE MOONSHINE (40 proof Americana in a jar). Some of the signature cocktails available at multiple bars around the track include Corn N Cola, Electric Lemonade and Southern Hooch.
Taking the country by storm, Ole Smoky Moonshine has been profiled on TODAY Show, CNN, Travel Channel, Cooking Channel and in the Wall Street Journal. The brand is currently available in retail stores, Sam's Clubs, restaurants and bars in 30+ states.
