The Original Moonshine By Stillhouse Taps Brendan Wheatley As New Assistant Distiller

Distiller Brings Years of Experience and an Eclectic Style to the Handcrafted, Clear Corn Whiskey as it Continues its U.S. Expansion

The Original MOONSHINE clear corn whiskey, produced by STILLHOUSE, has hired Brendan Wheatley as the new assistant to third generation, head distiller Chuck Miller to support the brand's continued expansion across the country.
The Original MOONSHINE was launched by STILLHOUSE during the fall of 2010 in select U.S. markets including New York and Los Angeles. Shortly after, the product became available for purchase online and off-premise at liquor stores, while also gaining momentum in other key markets such as Miami, Las Vegas, the Hamptons and Austin. With increased consumer demand and imminent plans to expand further into North Florida, New Jersey, Dallas, San Francisco and Chicago; it was imperative that the STILLHOUSE distillery be led by a strong team of seasoned distillers in order to produce The Original MOONSHINE with consistency, quality and efficiency.

Brendan Wheatley brings a cultivated approach and knowledge nurtured from both Japanese and French micro distillery practices. Wheatley studied several distilleries in Tokyo during his time at Ichiro Akuto's Chichibu distillery, and he further diversified his education as a distiller for California brandy producer Germain-Robin, where he learned classic French techniques for the production and cellaring of brandy. In his most recent position as the founder and consultant of The 5ifth Consulting Services, Wheatley advised on design, build-out and product development for micro distilleries with an emphasis on barrel aged products.
