Park Hyatt To Bring Masters Of Food And Wine To Paris

Jean-Francois Rouquette, executive chef at Park Hyatt Paris-Vend?me, celebrates the Park Hyatt Masters of Food & Wine event in 2010 by inviting five international chefs to take part in the second edition of this event in Paris from October 11 to 16, 2010.

"We had a great time hosting the first Masters of Food & Wine event in 2009, with many renowned international chefs. The 2010 event will offer a unique mix of five European cultures, each bringing its own savoir-faire to using authentic regional products," says Chef Jean-Francois.

More than two decades ago, Park Hyatt hotels began the tradition of hosting an annual food and wine festival. For the past three years, the Park Hyatt Masters of Food & Wine event has brought together internationally distinguished chefs and Argentinian winemakers to participate in the festivities. To build on the continued success of the event, the festival was expanded to Paris, where each guest chef will incorporate regional products into his/her specialty cuisine. The chefs participating in the second Paris Masters of Food & Wine event are:

Jean-Francois Rouquette, executive chef of Pur' restaurant (one Michelin star), Park Hyatt Paris-Vend?me, Paris (France) -- Jean-Francois Rouquette has been the executive chef of Pur' Restaurant, which has one Michelin star, since October 2005. With creative, audacious cuisine, Chef Jean-Francois and his team offer the very best of French cuisine and seasonal products with a single objective: to ensure that each moment is unique.

Ola Rudin & Sebastien Persson, Trio restaurant, Malmo (Sweden) -- Trio offers a unique food experience for all the senses. Chefs Ola and Sebastien offer the perfect combination of produce with modern magnificence, innovative techniques and traditional cooking methods. Their inspiration comes from the nature of Skane, in addition to their international experience in some of the world's top restaurants. Together, they have created an exclusive regional cuisine with a distinctive personality that is based on pure, natural flavours. Most of their food is made from local, biodynamic and organic products.

Eneko Atxa, Chef of Azurmendi restaurant (one Michelin star), Biscaye, Larrabetzu (Spain) -- A native of the Basque country, a region well-known for its gastronomic culture, Eneko Atxa, chef of Azurmendi restaurant in the lovely city of Larrabetzu in Biscay, is a solid character on the gastronomic scene. In 2007, two years after his restaurant opened, Chef Eneko received his first Michelin star.

Nuno Mendes, Chef of The Viajante restaurant, London (UK) -- Chef Nuno was born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal. He left Europe in the 1990s and trained at the prestigious California Culinary Academy in San Francisco before going on to work with some of the world's leading chefs. He also travelled throughout Central America, Europe and Asia, gaining both culinary and life experiences along the way. In 2006, Chef Nuno opened Bacchus in Hoxton, London, where he received critical acclaim. After the closure of Bacchus in 2008, he decided to open and develop a new concept he calls The Loft Project, a "chefs' gallery", where acclaimed chefs from around the word take up residence and cook for discerning diners. Chef Nuno's most recent venture is the opening of his own restaurant, Viajante (which means "traveller" in Portuguese), in April 2010 in the Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green in East London.
