Parkside Restaurant Hires New Beverage Director Adam Orman
-orman To Compliment Parkside's Menu With A New Wine And Cocktail Program-

The wine flows more freely these days at Austin's parkside restaurant thanks to new Beverage Director, Adam Orman, whose personal philosophy is that "wine is not a luxury item, it is a necessity."

Orman began his career as a server, but since has traveled throughout the United States studying under several experts to hone his extensive knowledge of wine and cocktails. His career listings include Savoy and Suba in New York, Arlequin Wine Merchants, a boutique wine shop, as well as Bar Bambino, voted by Bon Appetit as one of the nation's top new wine bars in 2008. Orman also managed 1550 Hyde in San Francisco grooming the wine menu to become one of Food and Wine's Top 5 New Wine Lists in 2004.

Orman will compliment Chef Shawn Cirkiel's culinary style of complex and unexpected flavors through simple ingredients by pairing each dish with its ideal beverage mate. Orman will be designing a new wine program using small wine producers to improve parkside's already extensive wine list.

parkside is extremely excited to have Adam Orman join their team as Beverage Director and expect him to assist in adding to parkside's acclaim. parkside was recently selected as one of Bon Appetit's Top 10 in 2009, one of Texas Monthly's places "Where to Eat Now" in February 2009 and included in Austin Chronicle's "2009 Readers and Critics Poll." The poll named parkside number 5 in their list of best restaurants in the city while readers voted Chef Cirkiel runner up for the city's "Best Chef." Proudly serving Austin for over a year now, parkside's addition of new beverage director Adam Orman will only improve its already hot reputation for tasty dining.
