Pastry Live Weekend - The National Showpiece Championship And Pastry Live Seminars
Pastry Live is hosting the first annual Pastry Live Weekend on Friday, August 26-Sunday, August 28. The Pastry Live Seminars feature pastry artists, Stephane Treand, M.O.F., Jean-Marie Auboine, Susan Notter and Karen Portaleo, who will be sharing their knowledge gleaned from years of experience. This is a great opportunity to get involved and learn from some of the most talented pastry chefs in the industry.
Several pastry competitions will also be featured, including the National Showpiece Championship, in which some of America's top sugar and chocolate artists will compete for the title of National Showpiece Champions. Cake artists will display their skill in cake sculpting by staging their creations for the Art of Cake Challenge, while world class chocolatiers will showcase their best bonbons in the Chocolatier of the Year competition. Audience members will also have the chance to be judges by taste testing and picking their favorites.
Our Pastry Live seminars are designed to help pastry chefs advance to the next level by demonstrating advanced sugar and chocolate work, confection, airbrushing and cake sculpting techniques. As event organizer Chef Paul Bodrogi CEPC declared, the National Showpiece Championship "is about new designs, new techniques and new ideas. Our goal is to make it feasible for top-level chefs to participate at the highest level of competition without making extraordinary personal and financial sacrifices."
