Pensacola Blue Wahoos Fans Hooked On Midnight Moon Strawberry In Official Stadium Beverage

The secret is out: Pensacola baseball fans are hooked on the Blue Wahoo, the new official beverage at Pensacola's new multi-use stadium, Blue Wahoos Park. And the key ingredient, Midnight Moon Strawberry, is the reason.
Created by Stephen Ford, Pensacola's mixologist extraordinaire, the Blue Wahoo features the Pensacola Blue Wahoos' team color elements of red (Midnight Moon Strawberry) and blue (Blue Cura?ao) plus a hint of sweet citrus and sour bite that compliments the palate in a refreshing and unique beverage. The Blue Wahoo is only available at Blue Wahoos Park, Pensacola's new bay front, multi-use stadium and home of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, Northwest Florida's new hometown baseball team.

"This is a new baseball team and a new stadium, and we needed a new beverage to celebrate the exciting Wahoo spirit here in Pensacola," said Bruce Baldwin, president of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. "The Blue Wahoo beverage is the perfect blend of flavors and colors to honor our regional appeal of blue waters, blue skies, blue fish and the Blue Angels."

About Junior Johnson

Junior Johnson is a legendary moonshiner from North Carolina, who brought his family recipe to Piedmont Distillers in 2007. The Johnson family's moonshine is considered to be the best. Junior grew-up tending to the family's stills during the day and bootlegging 'shine at night. Johnson's incredible driving skills enabled him to stay two steps ahead of the revenuers. While never caught delivering his moonshine, Johnson was eventually arrested while firing up the family still. He served 11 months of a two-year sentence and then later received a presidential pardon from Ronald Reagan for his 1956 moonshining conviction. Junior used the racing and car building knowledge he acquired while bootlegging to become one of the most successful drivers and owners in racing history, culminating with his induction into the 2010 inaugural class of the NASCAR Hall of Fam e. Johnson was the subject of Tom Wolfe's famous essay for Esquire magazine in 1965 titled, "The Last American Hero is Junior Johnson. Yes!"
