Pluckemin Inn Receives Two New Awards Of Excellence

The Pluckemin Inn in Bedminster, New Jersey (359 Route 202/206 & Pluckemin Way Bedminster, NJ 07921 Ph: 908-658-9292), is pleased to announce the awarding of two accolades, Wine Enthusiast Magazine's Award of Ultimate Distinction and a 2006 AAA Four Diamond Award. Pluckemin has all the ingredients necessary to be marked as a top dining destination: a beautiful space, excellent cuisine prepared by its talented chef, Matthew Levin, and a world-class wine collection, overseen by sommelier Brian Hider. To be considered for AAA rating and approval, restaurants and lodgings must undergo a thorough inspection by one of AAA's 65 full-time, trained, professional evaluators. Four Diamond establishments go through more extensive inspections and final committee review. AAA evaluates nearly 57,000 properties and publishes their ratings in the AAA TourBooks., on Internet TripTik at www.aaa.com, and in part on www.AAAmaps.com. The AAA Diamond Ratings. system was introduced in 1977 and continues to be recognized as the trusted leader of quality ratings for North American restaurants and lodgings.

Restaurants who are eligible for Wine Enthusiast's Ultimate Award of Distinction submit details about their wine program to Wine Enthusiast, and those selected are done so on the basis of commitment to their programs. The frequency and depth of winemaker dinners, the existence of special pairing menus, breadth and depth of wine selections, overall pricing, corkage policies, and how the entire wine program matches the tone set by the chef and ownership of the restaurant are all considered. Innovative, daring, unexpected choices that make sense with the menus, and an effort to offer multiple large-format and half bottles earn extra consideration. Less than 10 percent of those who receive an award are in the Ultimate Distinction category, putting Pluckemin Inn in excellent company. Results will be published in the magazine early in 2006.
