Portland Harbor Hotel Opens Annual Ice Bar

PORTLAND HARBOR HOTEL OPENS ANNUAL ICE BAR
Ice Sculpting Expo to launch Ice Bar Festivities on January 28, 2006

PORTLAND, Maine - The dining room at Eve's at the Garden abuts Portland Harbor Hotel's gorgeous outdoor Terrace, one of Portland's best al fresco dining spots. During the winter months, guests normally sit indoors and enjoy the wintry view, longing for the days of summer and relaxation in the afternoon sun. Chef Jeff Landry, Eve's Executive Chef, has other ideas--- on Saturday, January 28, he plans to transform the Terrace into an Ice Sculpture Expo, complete with a seven thousand pound Ice Bar built for martinis and ice wines.

According to Chef Landry, "Portlanders have never seen anything like this. We are going to make the Terrace look more like Stockholm than Portland. For anyone planning to hit the town, the Ice Bar at Eve's will be the funkiest place to kick off the evening's festivities."

Chef Landry seems to always be trying something new. This Fall, for instance, he invited Portland's top chefs to his dining room, Eve's at the Garden, to produce Maine's largest culinary fundraiser for Hurricane Katrina (the group raised over eleven thousand dollars). During November, he partnered with Browne Trading to create a one-of-a-kind caviar dinner, and then in December, he hosted a party for over six hundred guests to launch the Old Port's popular Merry Madness event. For Portland's after work crowd who have made the Hotel's Terrace their summer oasis, the Ice Bar at Eve's will be a fun change of pace and a new way to celebrate winter.
