Public Fare, An Outdoor Cafe From Danny Meyer's Union Square Events, Reopens For The Season At The Public's Delacorte Theater In Central Park

Union Square Events, the events services business from Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group is pleased to announce the reopening of Public Fare at The Public's Delacorte Theater in Central Park, home of Shakespeare in the Park.

Ideally suited to outdoor dining in the park, Public Fare serves a carefully sourced menu from Union Square Events' culinary team, with guidance from USHG's Culinary Director Michael Romano. Enjoy the warm weather season with a picnic in Central Park and nosh on delicious specialty hot dogs such as the Picnic Dog with Crushed Barbecue Potato Chips, Scallions and Tangy Housemade Sauce; sandwiches such as the Smoked Turkey & Gouda on Ciabatta Bread with Baby Arugula and Pickled Onion-Jalapeno Mayonnaise; housemade desserts and snacks. Lighter options on the menu include salads such as the Chickpea Salad with Feta, Cucumber, Kalamata Olives, Tomato and Oregano; and Mixed Baby Greens with Pickled Shallots, Fresh Herbs, Ricotta Salata and Lemon Vinaigrette. Public Fare also offers a beverage list that includes a perfect summertime White Sangria by the Glass.

The outdoor cafe will be open Wednesdays through Sundays from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (until 6:00 PM on Fridays). On performance nights, Public Fare will remain open until the beginning of Act II. On Fridays, Public Fare is offering happy hour specials between 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, featuring $3 draft beers, $5 wines by the glass and 20 percent off the entire food menu. In addition to operating Public Fare, Union Square Events is the preferred caterer for events at The Public's Delacorte Theater.

The 2012 Shakespeare in the Park season celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the Delacorte Theater this summer, with Daniel Sullivan, who directed acclaimed productions of All's Well That Ends Well, The Merchant of Venice and Twelfth Night in the Park, directing As You Like It from June 5th through June 30th with Lily Rabe as Rosalind, Oliver Platt as Touchstone and original music by Steve Martin. The second show will be Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's beloved musical Into the Woods, directed by Timothy Sheader with co-direction by Liam Steel, beginning July 23rd through August 25th with Amy Adams as The Baker's Wife and Donna Murphy as The Witch.
