R A P Declares May 10th 2011 International Rose Celebration Day!
Rose Avengers & Producers and Chef Lam of Butterfly restaurant have announced that the 7th Annual Pink Out! SF and Inaugural International Rose Celebration Day will take place on Tuesday, May 10th 2011. In tandem with Pink Out! SF, RAP is teaming again with TasteLive -- the world's premier online tasting community -- to host a live streaming broadcast from Butterfly, with 15 bloggers tasting remotely, and dozens of venues around the world hosting tweetups. The virtual tasting is sponsored by CellarPass, Mutineer magazine, and eight select participating wineries to be announced. Wineries wishing to be selected for the TasteLive broadcast event may contact RAP Director Joel Quigley at joel@creativefurnace.com.
"We're very excited to expand TasteLive's role in Pink Out! 2011," said Joel Quigley, who has been RAP's director for seven years and also heads up business development for TasteLive. "Over the past several years we've had an endless stream of requests to bring Pink Out! to other venues and cities. TasteLive now allows us to do this in a cost-effective and viral way. The TasteLive platform and network has given us the inspiration and means to declare May 10th as International Rose Celebration Day!"
Pink Out!: The Pink Out! SF celebration at Butterfly restaurant will feature an extensive walk-around tasting of 40-plus classic still and sparkling roses from throughout the world, accompanied by delicious appetizers, chill DJ grooves, and the TasteLive broadcast. Chef Lam will present rose-inspired Pan-Pacific appetizers from sustainably and organically sourced ingredients. Guests are encouraged to wear their most fun and entertaining pink attire. Tickets are again expected to sell out in advance and are available online only.
TasteLive & International Rose Celebration Day: For rose lovers who can't make it to home base at Butterfly, RAP has invited venues and guests from around the world to join the celebration by opening and tasting their favorite rose wines, and then sharing their posts and pictures on RAP's TasteLive Channel. Alan Kropf, editor-in-chief of Mutineer magazine, will host the broadcast with featured winemakers, bloggers, and guests joining the live conversation. Venues and revelers need to pre-register at TasteLive to participate.
