Ray's Restaurants Announces Major Renovation Plans For Ray's On The River

Ray's Restaurants announces the company's flagship restaurant, Ray's on the River, will undergo a major renovation, the first in its 22-year history. In conjunction with the restaurant remodel, Ray's Restaurants LLC, has purchased the restaurant's building and property. The heralded Atlanta dining institution closed for remodeling in late December, 2006. Ray's on the River is slated to debut its updated look to restaurant patrons sometime in Spring 2007.

Renovation plans call for a completely redesigned interior for Ray's on the River featuring a sophisticated, upscale look as well as a state-of-the-art remodel of the restaurant's kitchen. Atlanta-based Seiber Design Inc., will serve as the architects for the project. The award-winning architectural and design firm's work includes a long list of Atlanta's well-known dining establishments, retail and residential projects. While changes have been made to the restaurant's 35-year old building throughout the years, the upcoming renovation will allow for Ray's on the River to reach its fullest potential as an unparalleled Atlanta dining venue.

In conjunction with the development of One River Place, a new master-planned riverfront community nestled on the east bank of the Chattahoochee River next to Ray's on the River, renovation plans also call for dramatic changes for the restaurant's exterior property. This includes the extensive planting of native trees and plants. The rear of the restaurant will feature the addition of elegant outdoor lighting to create a park area and enhance the beauty of the surrounding natural environment.

Ray's on the River, founded in 1984 by restaurant industry veteran Ray Schoenbaum, continues to win accolades as one of Atlanta's top dining destinations. To date, the city's premier riverfront restaurant has served more than four million customers, over half a million just for their legendary Sunday brunch. It has hosted more than 2,000 special occasion events such as weddings and receptions and has served over two million pounds of seafood since its opening. Ray's On The River is the recipient of numerous awards for its Sunday Brunch, and, on nine occasions, its wine cellar has received an Award of Excellence from the Wine Spectator.

"Our customer is everything," said Ray Schoenbaum, Partner, Ray's Restaurants LLC. "We are excited to improve upon our popular Atlanta fine dining icon and offer our customers a fresh new experience in a soon to be unveiled spectacular environment. The restaurant's updated new look will have Atlanta diners rediscovering Ray's on the River as their top dining choice."

Ray's in the City To Debut Sunday Brunch January, 2007
During the renovation, Atlantans can continue to enjoy some of their favorite Ray's on the River dishes at the chain's two sister restaurants, Ray's Killer Creek in Alpharetta and Ray's in the City located on Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta. These include signature menu items such as the award-winning Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, Ginger Tuna and Prime, Aged Steaks. Beginning late January 2007, Ray's in the City will offer diners Ray's Restaurants legendary Sunday brunch currently served at Killer Creek and Ray's on the River.
