Revisit San Francisco History Exploring Land's End And Sutro Heights
Walk back in time and visit what was once deemed San Francisco's very own wonderland - historic Sutro Heights and the spectacular awe-inspiring scenery of Land's End. Every 2nd and 4th Saturday morning beginning on August 28 join historian and author John A. Martini on a one-and-a-half hour walking tour of these magnificent and historic San Francisco destinations.
The morning begins with a delicious continental breakfast at the spectacular Cliff House. Once fueled for the walk, you'll set off to explore Adolph Sutro's magical 'kingdom of the sea.' Take in the sights as you listen to John, considered the ultimate authority on this fabled area of the City, as he relays Sutro's indelible connection to San Francisco and his dream of creating 'pleasure grounds' for its residents and the world.
Continental breakfast will begin at 9:00 a.m., and the walking tour departs from the Cliff House at 10:00 a.m. The route follows city and paved paths but includes some uphill sections. This event is limited to 40 people and is $40 per person. Special tours for groups and associations available upon request.
