Rock & Roll Winemakers Unveil Their Private Stash
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Napa and Sonoma rock & roll winemakers unveil their Private Stash
Haven't you ever wanted to drink a winemaker's private stash? Now you can, by joining the Private Reserve 2009 Wine, Sun & Rock Caribbean cruise on Regent Seven Seas Cruises. This 12-day cruise will depart March 11, 2009 from Ft. Lauderdale on Regent's 490-passenger cruise ship Navigator and will explore some of the lesser-known islands of the Caribbean: Aruba, Curacao, St. Lucia, Dominica, St. Croix, Turks and Caicos and Puerto Rico.
Besides the gourmet meals, nightlife and spa-living normally found on a Regent cruise, accompanying guests will enjoy drinking the stash from each of the winemaker's personal cellars, Magnum Magic an opportunity to sample a variety of age-worthy wines from large format bottles, two winemaker dinners, casual wine-chats, and the 60s rock and roll band Private Reserve.
Private Reserve is composed of three of Napa and Sonomas top-winemakers: Ed Sbragia, Emeritus winemaker for Beringer Winery, who also has his own label Sbragia Family Vineyards in Geyserville; Mike Martini, Master Winemaker of Louis M. Martini in St. Helena and for his own label M Squared; and George Bursick, consulting winemaker with J Wines in Healdsburg. Sbragia sings, plays guitar and the accordion. Martini plays lead guitar, while Bursick plays drums. The quartet is rounded out by Bob Janis on keyboard, the co-owner of Vintage Point wine-distributors.
During the cruise, guests will:
* Meet and taste with George Bursick, Bob Janis, Mike Martini and Ed Sbragia, and sample wines from their wineries including J, Villa Toscano, Brutacao, Louis Martini, M Squared, Beringer Vineyards, Sbragia Family Winery and more.
* Explore wines from many famous Northern California appellations: Napa Valley, Howell Mountain, Dry Creek and Russian River Valleys, Sonoma County, and more.
* Sample a broad range of varietals ranging from classic Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Zinfandel to exotic Cal/Italia Tuscan red blends, from classic Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc to lively Pinot Grigio.
* Experience the power of aging wines gracefully as you taste current vintages and compare them with beautifully cellared library wines of famous vintages.
* Learn about the power of magnums and large format bottles and their aging secrets.
And, around the pool or the dance floor, you will get to know these very nice guys and learn a little more about the Wine Country lifestyle.
