Rocklands Barbeque And Grilling Company And Slow Food Dc Bring A Whole Pig Roast To Barbeque Enthusiasts

What: Learn how to pick a pork and grill it. John Snedden, founder of Rocklands Barbeque and Grilling Company, will talk about the art of barbeque and demonstrate grilling techniques at a whole pig roast brought to barbeque enthusiasts in association with Slow Food DC. Snedden will also talk about the benefits of wood-only grilling and guide a tasting of different flavor profiles found in various cuts of pork.

Guests will also receive a lesson on pickling and canning techniques, just in time for them to begin preserving this summer's bounty.

When: Sunday, June 28, 2009 from 11 am to 2 pm.

Price: The event is priced at $35 for Slow Food members and $40 for guests. The price includes a lavish summer spread of mouthwatering Rocklands Barbeque and Grilling Company dishes like whole smoked locally-raised pig, potato salad, homemade jalapeno cornbread, barbequed baked beans, pickled vegetables and a variety of refreshing summer drinks like mason jar cocktails, beer, lemonade and sweet tea.
