Russian River Valley Winegrowers Open Grape To Glass Weekend With Romantic Friday Night Tasting & Concert At Hyatt Vineyard Creek

Russian River Valley Winegrowers (RRVW) 15th Annual Grape to Glass weekend showcases the region's wine country lifestyle like no other celebration by blending music, art and recreation into its signature weekend of artisan wine and food events. A major new addition to the weekend is "In Concert with the Artisans" with headliner Nick Palance at Hyatt Vineyard Creek in Santa Rosa's Historic Railroad Square on August 20th from 6:00pm to 10:00pm.

Sponsored by Hyatt Vineyard Creek, Food & Wine magazine and Horizon Air, the evening is set amongst the Hyatt's verdant gardens, grapevines, fountains and sculptures, and begins with a varietal tasting from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with thirty Russian River Valley wineries showcasing the diversity of winegrapes grown in the region. Artisan food purveyors and local chefs will share bites of farm-to-table appetizers, as well as offer small plate dishes for purchase prior to the concert, while Hyatt Vineyard Creek's Brasserie Restaurant presents a cafe-style menu and seating on the fireside patio.

"We're honored that Nick Palance has agreed to take a break from recording his upcoming album with Bocelli's producers to share his amazing voice and songs with us," said Valerie Wathen, President of RRVW. "If you're a fan of Russian River Valley wines, local artisan chefs and foods, and artists like Bocelli and Josh Groban, this is a night not to be missed--a perfectly lovely evening to start a weekend packed with activities that celebrate the creativity and beauty of our region."

At the close of the varietal garden tasting at 8:00pm, RRVW will offer wines by the glass and bottles for purchase during the concert. Palance will perform songs from his upcoming album "Saving Grace" with his band and guest vocalist Lindsey Scott. Throughout the evening, a large canvas will be painted live by a local artist and then auctioned off the following evening at RRVW's "Hog in the Fog ~ A Festival of Plenty" for the benefit of El Molino High School's AG program. At the close of the concert at 9:45pm, Hyatt Vineyard Creek will host a reception and signing with Palance in the grand ballroom, with an advance cut of his album available for special purchase.

Early bird general seating is $85.00, VIP $115.00 before August 10th. After August 10th, general seating is $115.00, VIP $135.00. VIP tickets include table service and wines hosted by RRVW vintners.
