Dallas, TX --- Superstars of the epicurean world and lovers of wine and food gather to savor the flavor, during the 2nd annual Savor Dallas weekend, February 16-18, 2006. Savor Dallas is a feast for the senses; offering opportunities to explore the arts, celebrate cultural diversity, and enjoy the fine art of premium wines, spirits and cutting edge cuisine.
Getting the weekend started on Thursday, are the Sizzling South of the Border Celebration at the Latino Cultural Center, Wine, Food and Rhythm at the African American Museum, and nearly two-dozen winery dinners at the finest restaurants in Dallas-Fort Worth.
A highlight of the weekend is The Arts District Wine Stroll, Friday February 17, 4-7 p.m., with a chance to stroll among the beautiful Dallas Arts District treasures and taste wines from the finest vineyards at each participating location: Crow Collection of Asian Art, Dallas Museum of Art, Meyerson Symphony Center and Nasher Sculpture Center.
Following the Stroll on Friday, the scene shifts to the Wyndham Anatole. Discriminating connoisseurs will enjoy the limited attendance Reserve Tasting featuring ultra-premium wines and spirits. Then, guests can experience Bubbles 'N Jazz presented by Mokt & Chandon, starring Grammy Award winners The David Sanborn Group. The exciting culinary and entertainment gala evening features sumptuous cuisine by Nana's Anthony C. Bombaci, great Champagne from Mokt, and the presentation of the 2006 Lone Star Awards.
The International Grand Tasting features over 500 wines and spirits and more than 50 of Dallas/Fort Worth's most celebrated chefs serving signature dishes Saturday, February 18, from 7 until 10pm at the Wyndham Anatole.
During the day on Saturday, The Viking Range Celebrity Stage features star chef cooking demos from Rocco DeSpirito, Gale Gand, Aaron Sanchez, and more to be announced. Tasting seminars and panels feature top experts Steve Olson, Andrea Immer Robinson MS, Dale DeGroff, Doug Frost MS/MW, and more.
Savor Dallas supports North Texas Food Bank, Greater Dallas Restaurant Association Education Fund and the Arts Magnet Building Campaign for Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.
