Secluded Patio And Late Night Dining Make This Restaurant Inescapable
Legendary Chef Lydia Shire has introduced her sixth culinary destination to Boston: Scampo. Located within The Liberty Hotel, Scampo's Italian-inspired (but not limited to) menu is full of comfort food kicked up a notch, with handmade pastas that surpass red sauce norms and creative dishes that turn simple ingredients into extraordinary experiences.
A collaboration with The Lyons Group, Scampo offers the ultimate in comfort food and great service, with seasoned professionals at the helm. Executive Chef Mario Capone and Chef de Cuisine Simon Restrepo have worked with Shire for a combined 25 years.
Designed in collaboration with renowned designers Rafael Alvarez and Brannen Brock, Scampo is a reflection of Chef Shire: bold, red and full of energy. As you enter, high-top tables greet you on the left, a glowing reddish-orange bar catches your eye on the right, and an interactive mozzarella bar straight ahead rounds out the contemporary, social space.
On the far side of the room, you'll find one of the best kept secrets in Boston: Scampo's secluded patio. Away from the street and protected by the Liberty's courtyard, the outdoor patio seats 60 under large umbrellas and is open for lunch and dinner, the perfect oasis in which to try Shire's not-to-be-missed weekend specials: Suckling Pig Al Forno (Friday night) and Baby Lamb Al Forno (Saturday night).
Another little known fact, Scampo's kitchen stays open until midnight, one of the city's few options for late-night dining. Night-owls can take refuge in tastes from the pizza menu, like white clam and bacon, or nibbles from the fresh mozzarella bar served with handmade breads and peach and pistachio pesto. All this can be enjoyed with unexpected cocktails like the Tea Party: 42 Below Vodka, fresh green tea and ginger lemon syrup, and the Scampo Bellini: sparkling ros� and peach-mint foam.
