Seasonal Dining With A View At The Pridwin On Shelter Island
The Pridwin Beach Hotel & Cottages opens its dining room and lounge to the public starting Sunday, June 29. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, with arguably the most beautiful water view from Shelter Island, overlooking Southold Bay, are served seven days through Labor Day except on Wednesday when The Pridwin hosts its legendary, outdoor, all-you-can-eat cookouts
Menus range from three-courses of fine dining to outdoor cookouts with menu items for all ages. Chef Keith Marty focuses on using local ingredients whenever possible, such as the Pridwin-caught fresh fish from nearby waters to the locally farmed vegetables. Marty is also responsible for Pridwin recipes such as blackened tuna carpaccio, grilled southwestern spiced sea scallops and the creamier than most Pridwin cheesecake. Dinner entre selections are paired with recommended Long Island wines to enhance the dining experience. Cookout entre selections include filet mignon to order, grilled yellow fin tuna in a Hawaiian marinade, juicy herb-grilled chicken and tender spare ribs.
Patrons may also enjoy the exceptional waterfront views from inside the restaurant or al fresco on the wrap-around deck. Boaters are welcome to dock at The Pridwin's private pier while enjoying a lunch or dinner menu and view. Visitors may also visit to catch a sunset and enjoy sweet libations on the deck, in the lounge area or at the 25-foot granite and mahogany bar.
Outdoor cookouts are held every Wednesday from July 9 to August 24. Special Saturday cookouts will be held on July 5 and July 12. Wednesday cookouts cost $31 for adults and $19 per child under 12-years-old with a supplement on Saturday. Reservations are required.
