Serafina Welcomes Ron Lachini: Northwest Winery Featured Thursday, November 11th At Annual St. Martin's Day Feast
SERAFINA WELCOMES RON LACHINI
Northwest Winery Featured Thursday, November 11th at Annual St. Martin's Day Feast
Seattle (October, 2010) - Ron Lachini of the nationally acclaimed Northwest winery, Lachini Vineyards, will join Serafina as part of their 10th annual Festa di San Martino celebration. The multi-course dinner takes place on Thursday, November 11th beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Eastlake Avenue restaurant. The cost of the dinner will be $85 per person plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required and may be made by calling (206) 323-0807.
In 2005, Lachini Vineyards was called "one of Oregon's hottest new boutique producers" by Wine Press NW. Since then, Lachini wines have been awarded consistent scores in the 90's by many national wine publications. Serafina Sommelier, Salomon Navarro says "In addition to their pedigreed wines produced in the world class Willamette Valley, the Lachinis craft Washington grown Bordeaux style wines that are sought after and highly lauded in their own right! This is a very intriguing accomplishment in style and craft from a Pacific Northwest producer. We are excited to host Ron and his wife Marianne for our harvest celebration this fall."
Serafina has chosen to partner with this local producer for its 10th annual St. Martin's Day Feast because of Mr. Lachini's Italian heritage and the high quality of the wines. Lachini's family hails from the Tuscan town of Lucca, whereby he's stayed true to his Italian heritage since making wine with his great grandfather, nonno and father in their garages as a child in San Francisco. Lachini says: "Our emphasis is on the meticulous management of each vine through biodynamic farming, while combining state of the art winemaking and old world technique to handcraft wines of complexity, grace and profoundness - each one, we believe, a reflection of its soul and unique place." This aligns well with Serafina's philosophy that Italian food is about staying connected-to each other, to the past, to the earth and its goal of serving traditional Italian cuisine that incorporates the best sustainable and organic products of the Northwest.
Serafina's Executive Chef Dylan Giordan will create a multi-course menu to pair with the Lachini portfolio. Featured wines will include the 2008 Pinot Gris, the 2007 La Contrada blend from Walla Walla Valley and the 2006 Cuvee Giselle Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley, among others.
The dinner will be served in one seating at 6:30 p.m. at Serafina Osteria and Enoteca, 2043 Eastlake Avenue East. A credit card is required to hold reservations which may be made by calling 206.323.0807. The wines served will be available for purchase at the event.
St. Martin is the patron saint of winemakers, grape growers and drunks. His feast day marks the close of the agricultural year and functions as the old world equivalent to our Thanksgiving Day Celebration.
