Shagbark Hickory Syrup From Indiana In An Ale?

Shagbark Hickory syrup from Indiana
In an Ale?
Chaka, the new canlaboration between Oskar Blues and Sun King breweries, but what's inside this resealable bottle/can hybrid is clearly where it's at.
The 8 percent ABV Belgian-style ale is a collaboration between the Colorado-based Oskar Blues brewmaster Dave Chichura and his longtime friends Dave Colt and Clay Robinson who founded Indianapolis' Sun King brewery. Using Hickoryworks "Shagbark Hickory syrup" from Indiana and grains from Colorado, we hope this will help heal the longtime bitterness between the two states if indeed any such bitterness has ever existed.
Chaka was released in May of 2012 at the Craft Brewers Conference in San Diego. But unless you live near either of the breweries' home markets it might be hard to get your hands on this limited-edition beer for a while.
Albeti both breweries have turned out two batches since May due to the Local demand.
