Size And Service Propel Sonoma Wine Company To The Head Of An Increasingly Competitive Pack
Responding to the Growth of and Demands for Contract Wine Services, Sonoma Wine Company Adds Alternative Packaging Options and Expanded Facilities to Earn Loyalty
Northern California's most comprehensive, fully integrated crush-to-bottle contract winery, Sonoma Wine Company (SWC), celebrates its 7th year in business in 2010, and 7th year of growth. Production efficiencies, economies of scale, green practices and facilities in both Napa and Sonoma Counties attract a diverse client base producing 5,000 to 500,000 cases annually. Sonoma Wine Company has increased volume in bottling, storage, and crush from 1.2 to 4 million cases annually and has continued to expand its list of full service offerings.
Since its inception in 2003, SWC has grown to include six facilities strategically located throughout Sonoma and Napa counties. Keeping up with market demands and forecasting business needs, SWC offers the following vertically integrated services:
crush
winemaking
nearly three million gallons of stainless steel tank space
storage for 75,000 barrels
six dedicated bottling lines able to bottle up to four million cases per year
bonded warehousing for up to one million cases for long-term storage
compliance assistance
private label wine development
Beginning in 2010, Sonoma Wine Company also offers alternative packaging including bag-in-the-box and self-dispensing kegs and bulk-to-bottle programming for retailers.
Established brands and new ventures alike profit from partnering with SWC. Bob Goyette, president of Stephen Vincent Wines and co-founder of the iconic La Crema brand, selected SWC to streamline production of his excellent value-priced Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and other wines. "Wine turns faster than hard assets," remarked Goyette, "working with Sonoma Wine Company frees me to focus exclusively on wine quality and building the Stephen Vincent Wines brand." he continued. "With impressive consistency, winemaking knowledge and attention to detail and quality, Sonoma Wine Company continues to over-deliver their product for the price."
Richard de los Reyes, owner and winemaker for Row 11 Wine Company, selected SWC for its vertically integrated services. "The consumer is tired of paying for life-styles. They need business models that improve quality, while preventing run away cost." he says. "Growers control the best Pinot Noir grapes not wineries. Sonoma Wine Company has several facilities within thirty minutes of those growers. Grape to tank time is minimal, and the money I don't waste on a physical winery helps pay for the best grapes and sales force."
SWC has long been a leader in the wine industry. The company is currently awaiting ISO 22000 certification, which attests to its commitment to responsible business practices, safety, and risk control, and offers SWC and its clients an advantage in the competitive global wine market.
