Skipjacks Adds A Sushi To The Menu

SKIPJACKS ADDS A SUSHI TO THE MENU

BOSTON: Skipjacks President/Owner Jeff Senior announces the addition of sushi to two of the three Skipjacks locations Newton and Natick. The sushis bars are under the direction of Master Sushi Chef Tsui Otto Hiu Tou, formerly of Oishi and Ginza.

"Adding the sushi bars is so fitting for Skipjack's; our mantra is we are seafood and so much more," say's Jeff Senior. From Skipjacks inception in 1986, Jeff was determined that his restaurant would be different. At that time diners expected a seafood restaurant to serve lobster, scrod and not much else. Skipjacks was devoted to introducing Bostonians to a wide variety of the freshest seafood from around the world and offering it at the best prices. In fact, Skipjacks was the first Boston area restaurant to offer orange roughy, Mahi Mahi and a wide variety of Pacific seafood. Skipjacks is also credited with originating blackened tuna sashimi. Now Skipjacks' continues the tradition of innovation with sushi.

The Skipjacks sushi bars offers about 35 options including traditional Sashimi, Maki and Sushi Rolls as well as signatures dishes like the Hamachi Martini with diced hamachi marinated with ponzu sauce and black topike; a Cape Cod Maki, a Caterpillar Maki and Skipjacks Rainbow Maki. The menu is approachable and affordable allowing dinners to experiment a bit and discover new flavors and favorites!

The sushi bars are prominently displayed as patrons enter allowing guests to see the fresh and colorful seafood. Ottos presentations are enhanced by the distinctive handmade pottery made by a family friend of Jeff Seniors. The sushi bars are open for lunch in Newton and Natick Monday through Friday and for dinner only on Saturday and Sunday nights. The Back Bay location will be adding sushi later this year.
