Sport Restaurant & Bar Hoists The Red, White And Blue For Team Usa
Every two years, alternating in summer and winter, the Olympic Games are held. With very few exceptions, Americans (a competitive lot), are glued to television screens watching the competitions and gathering together to cheer hard for Team USA to bring home the gold. With the 2012 Summer Olympics just days away, SPORT Restaurant & Bar is a perfect place to watch the London Games, as it "sports" 39 screens (1 - 130" High Def TV, 2 - 50" Plasma TV's, 13 - 42" Plasma TV's, 8 - 17" LCD booth TV's, 5 - 20" LCD booth TV's and 10 - 27" Flat Screen TV's on the patio for outdoor seating) so fans of the 530 participating U.S. athletes will not miss a single action packed moment.
Those cheering on a favorite participant need proper food and libation. Beginning Friday, July 27th through Sunday August 12, SPORT will be featuring the TEAM USA with just that in mind. "Sporting" raspberry vodka, fresh sour mix, grenadine and blue curacao, this tri-level patriotic red, white and blue cocktail is priced at $6 with $1 from each shot sold benefitting the Special Olympics, another group of amazingly talented athletes. The Special Olympics provide year-round training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship.
General Manager Eric Howie suggests that Olympic aquatic fans also try the RACE FOR THE GOLD, a cocktail made up of mandarin vodka and red bull, making a zesty gold libation. Created with USA swimmer Michael Phelps in mind, it can be raised in toast as the superman in a swimsuit competes for seven gold medals.
The DREAM TEAM PASSION is another London Games inspired drink. With the high bar set by the original, the 2012 team of basketball greats has a wealth of talent and its eye on the gold. This summer sipper has raspberry vodka, strawberry puree and a champagne toast to top it off.
Chef Howie has plenty of eats available to help everyone keep their spirits high including a large assortment of both thin and thick crust pizzas, chili and chowder, burgers, sandwiches, salads and snacks such as fresh Garlic Fries and Jumbo Soft Pretzels. The dessert menu features treats like house favorites Dreyer's Grand Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae, Creme Brulee and fresh baked Gigantic Chocolate Chip Cookies.
