StarChefs Names Miami's Rising Stars - Chefs To Cook At Gala On November 17
StarChefs.com, the foremost online culinary magazine for chefs and food aficionados, has named the 2004 Miami Rising Stars. These up-and-coming chefs will serve their signature dishes at the Rising Stars Revue, a gala tasting event at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel in South Beach on November 17, 2004 from 7-9 pm.

The Miami Rising Stars were recommended for selection by the StarChefs Advisory Board, which is made up of over 20 of the country's most influential chefs including Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Daniel Boulud, Norman Van Aken, Todd English, and Bobby Flay. Recognizing the struggle young cooks face in getting ahead in the culinary field, StarChefs will offer the JobFinder Career Seminar: "How to Make It" at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel at 4:00 pm on November 17. During the panel discussion and Q&A session, current culinary students and cooks working in area restaurants will learn how the Rising Star Chefs forged their paths in the culinary field. Veteran Star Chefs Norman Van Aken and Douglas Rodriguez will also participate. The seminar is free of charge and open to culinary students, cooks, employers, culinary instructors and the press. In conjunction with the Rising Stars Revue, StarChefs and the New England Culinary Institute (NECI) are offering $80,000 worth of culinary scholarships. These scholarships will be awarded to candidates who demonstrate the potential to have a positive impact on the culinary field.
