PHILADELPHIA'S STEPHEN STARR NAMED "RESTAURATEUR OF THE YEAR"

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The editors of Bon Appetit magazine have chosen Stephen Starr as "Restaurateur of the Year" in its October issue. With 12 Philadelphia restaurants including Buddakan, Morimoto and Alma de Cuba to his credit, and currently celebrating his 10th anniversary in business, Starr has emerged as the country's most prolific and influential restaurateur. With no signs of slowing down, Starr will grow his Starr Restaurant Organization in 2006 by opening two restaurants in New York City and three more in Atlantic City.

"This is one of the greatest honors of my career. It's a wonderful feeling to be acknowledged on a national level by such a prestigious publication," says Starr, who has been lauded for revitalizing Philadelphia's dining scene.

For eight years running, the editors of Bon Appitit have recognized the most deserving people in the world of food and entertaining in their annual American Food and Entertaining Awards.
