Stuzzi Ristorante Opens In Flatiron District - Neapolitan Chef Pasquale Frola Named Executive Chef
The authentic language of the Italian chef and kitchen: color, vitality and grace are now available in the Flatiron district, with an authentic Neapolitan chef, who has already appeared on the Food Network's popular show Chopped.
With the fresh flavors of Italy: cheeses flown in weekly, pastas made fresh daily: both elegant and lusty, Pasquale Frola one of the few Naples-born fine restaurant chefs in New York is creating new interpretations of and traditional takes on Neapolitan classics.
With the qualities that make an authentic Italian chef great: technique and passion, Chef Frola puts his stamp on unique combinations (forget the drizzling of just lemon juice on mussels: here you'll also savor the unmistakable sweetness of balsamic vinegar), or on southern Italian classics such as sea urchin and spaghetti (with basil, garlic, tomatoes and a rich and lusty toss of olive oil), and the absence of butter.
The former location of Bar Stuzzichini continues the small plate experience but with an expanded menu of fresh pastas, made daily in house, innovative stuzzichini (wait 'til you savor the surprise in the arancini, or delight in the manila clams) and a dedication to the real Italian trattoria experience (and no pizza).
About Chef Pasquale Frola
Chef Frola in his short time at Stuzzi has already attracted a guest list of A-list celebrities, A-list Food Network chefs, as well as eminent politicians. They come for both the food and the atmosphere. We think you will, too. We hope you'll join us.
Born and raised in the city of Naples, Chef Pasquale Frola has cultivated a passion for cooking that focuses on sourcing quality local and seasonal products. Years of experience have refined the chef's concise preparations, paying homage to authentic Italian Cuisine, particularly that of Naples and the culinary traditions of all the Campania region, reaching a balance between dishes based on rural ingredients (pasta, vegetables, cheese) and seafood dishes (fish, crustaceans, mollusks).
Before NYC, Chef Frola worked in Italy, France, Germany, and England. Endeavors outside of Europe include the chef's experience manning the culinary helm of an international luxury cruise line touring the Mediterranean and Indian Oceans. Chef Pasquale Frola is eager to share his extraordinary Italian fare-down to his grandmother's secrets-to provide a truly memorable dining experience.
In New York just four years, he has already appeared on Food Network's Chopped, and has been married for the past two years to that most American of artists: a Nebraska-born Radio City Music Hall Rockette.
